Kirishima Jingu Shrine
霧島神宮 · Shinto shrine
Kagoshima Prefecture's official travel guide records that the shrine stands on the slope of Mount Kirishima with its buildings facing the summit of Mount Takachiho, and that the present shrine was built in 1715 by the lord of the Kagoshima domain.
The Agency for Cultural Affairs records the main hall, offering hall and worship hall as a National Treasure of the mid-Edo period.
