Hitoyoshi City's Japan Heritage council records that the shrine was protected by the Sagara clan as their patron deity, and that the current building was reconstructed at the beginning of the Edo period.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs records the shrine's main hall as an Important Cultural Property of the early Edo period.
