Hongenji Temple

本源寺 · Buddhist temple

The Tsuyama Town-Wide Museum consortium records that Hongenji is the family temple of the Mori clan, who ruled the Tsuyama domain, and that its main hall was constructed in 1607 by Mori Tadamasa, the first lord of the domain.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs records the temple's main hall as an Important Cultural Property of the early Edo period.
