Koganedo (Shozen’in Temple)

Tsuruoka City's official tourism website records that Shozen’in is the sole remaining temple of the Hagurosan Shugendo school, and that Koganedo holds Buddhist statues that belonged to Dewa Sanzan before its conversion to Shintoism in 1868.
The Agency for Cultural Affairs records Koganedo as an Important Cultural Property of the Momoyama period.
